• DIFFICULT TWO WEEKS FOR CLIMATE CHANGE SCIENTISTS

    01 February 2010

Adverse press recently, see below, has not altered the overall picture that  the mass of data assembled all points in the direction of a warmer world. Oceans are more acidic, coral reefs have bleached, forests burned, and rivers have dried, resulting in millions of poorer people having to abandon their homes.
Unfortunately, there has been some  bad practice which includes the refusal by UEA scientists to disclose data, and also a lack of reviewing standards by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on their papers, resulting in the unsubstantiated claim that Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035.   This does not change the big picture however, and Ed Milliband has declared a battle against “siren voices” who denied global warming was a reality .
